According to Prosper Insights & Analytics, Amazon.com is looming larger over the holiday season.
The company’s December survey of nearly 7,000 U.S. adults indicated that 26.2% of holiday shoppers purchased most of their gifts from the online giant this year. The number of consumers is up 10% from last year, according to Prosper.
Walmart, in its bricks and mortar and online operations, ranks second place, with 14.5% of holiday shoppers this year saying they purchased most presents there. Target, Kohl’s, Macy’s, Best Buy, J.C. Penney, Toys ‘R Us, eBay.com, and Costco follow, respectively, with single digit percentage shares.
