As Sears Holdings continues to fight for its survival, the struggling retailer is closing an additional 72 stores, according to a report from Business Insider.
Citing a Sears internal company memo, the company reportedly will lose 16 Sears locations, 49 Kmart stores and seven auto centers. Many of the locations will be closed in September.
The latest round of store closures follows several moves by Sears earlier this year to shut underperforming stores and also raise capital. In January, the company announced the closing of 150 stores— 109 Kmart and 41 Sears locations— and in March completed the sale of its Craftsman brand to Stanley Black + Decker.
