Sam’s Club opened its first location in Conway, AK, with an 8 a.m. grand opening ceremony.
The club incorporates a full pharmacy, optical and hearing aid centers, fresh departments including meat, dairy and produce, and fresh sushi made in-club daily.
Members of the Conway club can use a new shopping app, Scan & Go, for a lines-free shopping experience. The mobile app scans UPC codes on merchandise as shoppers load them into their cart. When done shopping, members can pay directly on their smartphone from anywhere in the club and bypass the checkout line. The Conway club also offers free club pickup.
The Conway club also will participate in the Sam’s Club Road Show program, a consignment initiative that provides local, regional and national entrepreneurs the chance to set up shop inside the facility while providing members access to additional products. Conway’s grand opening will feature Road Show items such as Vitamix blenders.
