Samsung has appointed Tim Baxter to the position of president and CEO of Samsung Electronics North America, effective immediately.
Baxter, who currently serves as president and CEO of Samsung Electronics America, will continue to oversee sales, marketing and operations across product categories. In his expanded role, he will also oversee the company’s long-term strategy for the region, which encompasses both the U.S. and Canadian markets.
“Over the past decade, I have had the pleasure of managing various lines of business for Samsung in the U.S., including mobile and consumer electronics,” said Baxter. “We have a strong management team in place throughout the region and I look forward to working with them to grow our business while continuing to provide our customers in North America with the products and experiences they have come to expect of the Samsung brand.”
Additionally, Young Hoon Eom will be joining the North American executive team as the deputy head of Samsung Electronics’ North America region. Eom most recently served as the president and CEO of Samsung Electronics Europe.
