Staples has expanded its electronics recycling program and will now accept both single-serve and traditional coffee brewers for free recycling in stores.
The company, which said that it is the first and only national retailer to accept both single-serve and traditional coffee brewers for free recycling in stores, noted that the program is available to all customers in the U.S.
“We know coffee is an important part of the morning routine for many customers. We hope customers make recycling their coffeemakers and other electronics at Staples a habit, just like their coffee fix,” said Jake Swenson, director, sustainability, Staples. “The expansion of our electronics recycling program is another way we’re making it easier for customers to support the environment, along with our large assortment of more sustainable products and free ink and toner recycling.”
During the week of April 22, Staples Rewards members or customers who join can recycle eligible products at a nearby Staples store and receive a coupon for $10 off an in-store purchase of $30 or more. During the promotion, Staples is encouraging customers to recycle an old coffee brewer and apply the coupon towards coffee or a new brewer.
