Evan Dash, StoreBound’s founder and CEO, was among the speakers at the annual Next Great Consumer Brands Conference, held recently at Nasdaq Times Square in New York City.
The event featured keynote presentations from tennis star Venus Williams and Hap Klopp, founder of The North Face.
During his presentation, Dash spoke about the growth his six-year-old company has seen in the world of housewares with products ranging from small electrics to the recently introduced smart furniture that was seen at the 2017 International Home + Housewares Show.
The Sobro coffee table plays to the growing trend of connected home products. It features a refrigerated drawer, LED lights, Bluetooth speakers, tempered glass top with touch controls, USB charging ports and two power ports that can power a laptop and connects to a television via Bluetooth. StoreBound said the coffee table has received crowdfunding support of $1.2 million in less than 45 days.
“StoreBound’s messaging is clearly resonating with the consumer as they have amassed more social media followers than most of the national retailers they supply products to,” said Billy Busko of Consensus Advisors, a consumer products investment group and a sponsor of the conference. “They’re also making savvy use of modern technologies like crowdfunding to evaluate new products and bolster cash flow.”
“Being recognized by the Consensus team as a leader in innovation validates that we are on the right track and it gave me a personal moment to look at all we have accomplished as a team, which was extremely gratifying,” said Dash.
