Tabletop industry veteran Dennis Marton, senior vp/marketing at Lenox Corp., died Thursday, March 23, after a brief illness. He was 63.
Marton spent nearly 40 years in the tabletop industry. Prior to joining Lenox in 2009, he held senior sales and marketing positions at Royal Doulton, Villeroy & Boch and Mikasa.
Among many tabletop accomplishments, Marton while at Royal Doulton spearheaded the creation and rollout of the popular Old Country Roses ceramic tableware under the Royal Albert brand. With Lenox, Marton directed the company’s expansion across several retail platforms, including QVC, TJX, Ross Stores and Burlington.
“Dennis was a gifted sales and marketing executive, and his humanity went beyond that,” said Peter Cameron, co-chairman of Lenox Corp. “Everybody who knew Dennis— from customers to the people he worked with— had great respect for him. He will be dearly missed.”
