Target Sets Holiday Promotional Schedule

With the holiday season on the horizon, Target Corp. has unveiled its promotional plans that feature popular gift picks and holiday needs as well as a revolving deal beginning in mid-November that will offer customers $10 off a $50 purchase on a different product category each week, including home.

On the merchandising side, Target will introduce a dedicated presentation dubbed Wondershop for the first time. There, customers will be able to find a range of gifts and products for all their tree-trimming needs. With online and in-store versions, Wondershop will provide a curated assortment of 2,000 new seasonal items, including a one-of-a-kind Bullseye ornament, Target said.

In the digital realm, the retailer noted that it had designed a virtual destination, Target.com/Wonderlist, that incorporates 400 edited gift ideas, customizable by recipient personality types and interests, to make it easy for shoppers to find meaningful gifts for family and friends.

The retailer will also showcase new connected home products, a broader selection of toys to include more exclusive products along with other exclusives in departments across the store and online.

Target added that it would reset popular promotions from 2015 to suit the current holiday season including 10 Days of Deals; free shipping on all digital orders through January 1, 2017; Cartwheel holiday deals such as 50% off one toy per day between November 1 and December 24; and a 10% Target Gift Cards discount on December 4. In addition, Target will provide free returns and an extended Price Match Guarantee, which enables shoppers to price match any purchase made from November 1 through December 24, excluding Thanksgiving through Cyber Week.

“Target is at our very best during the holidays, and we’re building on last year’s winning formula to make the 2016 holiday season even better,” said Brian Cornell, Target CEO. “We’re elevating and expanding the offers that helped guests save time and money to make the most of their holidays.
