Target assembled a Valentine’s Day advisory group consisting of designers, bloggers, stylists and others who weigh trends in products and purchasing to assemble gifts for the holiday.
Even when they involve traditional items, the picks take a unique perspective, for example recommending the heart-shaped Valentine’s Day Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups as a fun candy gift.
However, the focus is on broadening the occasion to include the whole family, including husbands, boyfriends, girlfriends, children and even pets.
For example, designer Joy Cho, among her recommendations, picked a heart-shaped pet bed from her new Oh Joy for Target pet collection. A pick from Amy Jain, a BaubleBar co-founder, was a Mickey Mouse waffle maker, chosen to prompt daddy/daughter cooking occasions. Target partner Barbara Bermuda pointed to a Nake Berkus amber candle as a guy gift, while Target’s home expert Emily Henderson pointed to trinket dishes and Target stylist Zanna Roberts Rasi identified pink mugs for girlfriend giving.
