Balmoral Launches Kickstarter Campaign For Ultimate Steak Knife

Sydney, Australia-based Balmoral Beach Designs has launched a Kickstarter campaign for its Ultimate Steak Knife. The knife is designed to enhance the flavor of any cut of meat, according to the company.

The blade of the Ultimate Steak knife is made of Japanese steel and features hand-hammered dimples that are designed to reduce drag as the knife cuts and also reduce the surface area that is in contact with the steak. The dimples and scallops create air pockets allowing the meat to fall away and not stick to the blade, the company said.

The handle and bolster are made of natural wood or antlers, and are designed for comfort, stability and balance. The shape of the wood handle is multi-dimensional so there is a natural grip between the first and second fingers that is said to make it easier to control and fit in the hand. Stainless-steel handle caps add stability, strength and act as a counter weight giving even weight distribution from tip to end, stated the company.

Balmoral Beach Designs said the Ultimate Steak Knife has an approximate retail price of $50. The Kickstarter campaign will run through August 17 and the knives are expected to ship starting in November.
