LAS VEGAS— Vitamix has expanded its assortment of high-end blenders with the recent debut of its Ascent Series. The appliances were first seen at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES), here.
Blenders in the Ascent line feature wireless connectivity utilizing the latest technology from Nordic Semiconductor, according to the company. This allow blenders to communicate with the Vitamix Perfect Blend smart scale and recipe app to detect the type of blending container being used and to modify the desired recipe accordingly.
“Through wireless technology, the scale, blender and app are all connected and work together to make the consumer more confident and successful in the kitchen,” said Mark Fleming, vp/product management and engineering for Vitamix.
The Ascent assortment includes four units— A2300, A2500, A3300 and A3500— and range in price from $469.95 to $619.95. All blenders come with a 10-year warranty. The A2300 and A2500 are both offered in black, white, red and slate, while the A3300 is offered in black diamond and pearl gray and the A3500 is offered in brushed stainless steel.
Each unit is offered with a unique set of features. The A2500 is equipped with three program settings, 1-10 speed dial, start/stop switch, pulse switch, digital timer and self-detect technology. The high-end A3500 has five program settings, 1-10 speed dial, touch start/stop, touch pulse, touch programmable timer and self-detect technology.
“Smart technology is a phrase that’s often used to describe the evolution of kitchen appliances today, and Vitamix has brought it to life with the introduction of the Ascent Series,” said Fleming. “The technology we’ve incorporated into this new line of blenders will allow us to add new functionality and features in the future.”
