To make shopping easier for loyal customers, Walgreens Boots Alliance is linking its Balance Rewards program with a recently deployed payment option.
Walgreens Balance Rewards members can now apply their loyalty account at checkout through Android Pay, making it more convenient to earn and redeem points for consumers who choose the payment option. Android users among the more than 85 million active Balance Rewards members can earn and use loyalty points in-store without having to separately employ their Balance Rewards card.
Users can add Balance Rewards card information to the Android Pay app downloaded on Google Play. Before paying for purchases, members can hold their Android device near the PIN pad and apply the appropriate rewards information. Android Pay is easy to set up, Walgreens said, and users continue to receive the rewards and benefits offered by credit and debit cards.
