Wayfair has renewed its global partnership with Habitat for Humanity as it helps the organization build and rehabilitate homes.
The company has contributed more than $1 million to Habitat for Humanity over its five-year partnership, and it will continue to provide fundraising, product donations and volunteer mobilization.
Wayfair noted that it supports Habitat for Humanity via fundraising initiatives and engagement of employees and customers. More than 200,000 customers have made a Habitat for Humanity donation at checkout, the company said, adding that it has donated thousands of furniture and décor pieces to Habitat for Humanity ReStore resale outlets to help fund decent and affordable housing.
In association with Wayfair’s growing presence in Canada, the company will participate in its first Habitat for Humanity build project in the Greater Toronto area this fall. A Wayfair team will help construct a safe and affordable home for a Toronto area family.
“At Wayfair, we believe that everyone should live in a home they love, which is why we are so committed to Habitat’s mission to create safe, decent and affordable housing in partnership with individuals and families,” said Niraj Shah, Wayfair CEO, co-founder and co-chairman. “Over the past five years of partnership, our customers have shown tremendous support for this important cause, and we are pleased to see so many of them engaged in supporting Habitat’s mission with us. We look forward to building on our partnership with Habitat and providing more families the chance to own a home.”
