Zojirushi is celebrating its 30th anniversary in the United States with a month-long contest for consumers.
The company, which offers an array of small electrics and vacuum insulated products, first began distributing products in the U.S. in 1968. The company established Zojirushi America Corporation in Bell, CA, in 1987 in an effort to better connect with their customers, the company said.
“We have had tremendous growth in the U.S. over these 30 years, and we look forward to the future of this brand and the ways in which it might meet the everyday needs of our customers,” said Tatsu Yamasaki, president and CEO of Zojirushi America.
Zojirushi was established in 1918 as the Ichikawa Brothers Trading Company in Osaka, Japan. The first products launched were glass-lined vacuum carafes, which set an industry standard for high quality vacuum insulated products.
The company’s Air Pot was introduced in the 1970’s, and in the 80’s, micro computerized rice cookers were unveiled. The company has continued to expand their product line ever since and 2018 will mark the company’s 100th anniversary.
