Jason Ledbetter, director of sales for Clipper Corporation’s licensed Viking Culinary brand, passed away on July 12, 2015, from a sudden heart attack. He was 48. Ledbetter, a 12-year housewares industry veteran, specialized in representing quality brands to the gourmet housewares industry. He began his housewares career in 2003 as a divisional sales manager for Tennessee-based Lodge Manufacturing. With his sales philosophy of developing personal relationships with his customers, he also served in a sales leadership capacity, helping to introduce several other gourmet housewares companies to the market. Previous brands he worked with include Epicurean, Shun and Swiss Diamond. “Jason really believed in the products he was involved with. His passion for the brands he was selling showed through," said Jeff Malkasian, evp/Clipper Corporation. “Jason was one of the most genuine people I have met. He was always looking out for those around him.” Malkasian continued, "Jason is a good example of someone who put people over program. It is amazing how many people know and loved Jason— he will be deeply missed by colleagues and friends. He had such a positive spirit and holds a special place in the memory of so many people. It is difficult to lose someone so young who has made such an impact on so many lives." Ledbetter is survived by his mother, Carol Garst, sister Anita Foster, nephew Bryson Foster and niece Victoria Foster, all of Tennessee. Visitation will be July 20, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home 117 E. Charlemont Ave., Kingsport, TN 37660. The funeral will immediately follow. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on July 21, 2015 at Oak Hill Cemetery 800 Truxton Drive Kingsport, TN 37660. Memorial contributions can be made in Jason Ledbetter's memory to Sullivan Baptist Church Building Fund, 4152 Maplewood Street Kingsport, TN 37660.
