Walmart has appointed Tony Rogers senior vice president, U.S. chief marketing officer, reporting directly to Greg Foran, president and CEO of Walmart U.S. The executive appointment follows the previously announced retirement of Stephen Quinn, evp/chief marketing officer of Walmart U.S. Rogers will have responsibility for the retailer’s marketing efforts including customer research, strategy, program development, branding and customer communication. He is a 10-year veteran of Walmart, and currently serving as chief marketing officer for Walmart China where he leads traditional, digital and social media efforts for Walmart stores. During his two years in China, Rogers has been focused on driving the day-to-day business while also building the marketing efforts in the country, the company said. Prior to moving to China, Rogers spent eight years in the Walmart U.S. marketing organization, where he held a variety of roles including svp/marketing and vp/advertising. Before joining Walmart, he spent several years in PepsiCo's Frito-Lay division in a number of brand marketing roles. Rogers will begin his new responsibilities in mid-January.
