Marcel Trepanier, founder and former president of Luigi Bormioli's U.S. subsidiary, died at his home in Southern Pines, NC, on September 6, 2015, at the age of 68. Trepanier was passionate about his career in glassware, noted a family obituary. He worked for different glassware companies early in his career before being hired by Luigi Bormioli Corp., serving as president of the Italian glassware company's U.S. operation for 29 years. He was born on April 24, 1947 in Chandler, Quebec. He met his wife of 47 years, Francoise, in Quebec City. Later he and his family moved to the U.S. and became naturalized citizens. He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Dorothee Trepanier. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a daughter, Valerie. A “Celebration of Life” memorial ceremony will be held on October 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Forest Creek Country Club in NC. His family is also holding a private funeral service.
