AmericasMart's Andrew Patton, vp/leasing for holiday, floral and home decor, passed away Tuesday, August 4. Patton died peacefully in the presence of his family following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer, according to a release issued by AmericasMart. Patton graduated from the University of Georgia in 1988 and started working with AmericasMart shortly after college, starting as leasing manager and moving up as vp/leasing for the holiday, floral and home decor categories. He was with AmericasMart for 17 years and had built long-lasting relationships with its exhibitors, and championed its growth unfailingly, AmericasMart officials said. “We are heartbroken at his tragic passing and extend our most profound sympathy to his wife and two small children in their time of unspeakable grief,” said Jeffrey Portman, Sr., AmericasMart vice chairman, president and chief operating officer. “As we shrink before the mystery of death, we also must remember Andrew’s vibrant life. Each of us is better for having known this incredibly kind and talented man, whom we are privileged to call friend.” Tags: Andrew Patton • AmericasMart • Atlanta Market • leasing • obituary • Housewares • Home Décor • Trade Shows •
