Sears Canada’s chief financial officer is stepping down. The retailer on Friday, April 15, announced that E.J. Bird, who also holds the title of executive vice president, would be leaving the company June 30. Serving as CFO since March of 2013, Bird is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities, the company said. A search by Sears Canada is currently underway for a new CFO. The company's senior vice president of finance, Billy Wong, will work closely with Bird during this period of transition to help pave the way for a seamless changeover when a permanent CFO is named, the retailer said.
